Dr. Michael Nall is a fellow and a diplomat, but probably not for the reasons you think.
Dr. Nall has been an “allergy fellow” since he finished his residency at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in the 1960s. Also, he is a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
Dr. Nall grew up in Ashland, Kentucky and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in anatomy and physiology from the University of Kentucky in 1960. That same year, he entered the University of Kentucky Medical School and graduated in 1965.
After graduation, Dr. Nall completed an internship at St. Joseph’s Infirmary and two years of pediatric residency at the University of Louisville, where he received the Robert Spurling award for outstanding pediatric resident and became the first allergy fellow. Dr. Nall served two years in the Army as Director of the Pediatric Allergy Clinic at Ireland Army Hospital at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
He and his wife, Jody, have been married since 1964 and have two daughters and two granddaughters. He enjoys golfing and fishing. He has also been active in his church spending some time in the mission field.
